A unique childcare setting

My home-based setting is located in the picturesque village of Ledston, West Yorkshire, just three 3 miles north of Castleford and only 10 miles east of Leeds. Our location allows us to offer outstanding levels of childcare for those living in the surrounding villages of Allerton Bywater, Kippax, Garforth, Swillington, Great Preston, Woodlesford and Fairburn.

Ledston Childcare is also ideally located to access the busy commuter routes of the A1, M1 and M62 motorways allowing parents who commute greater distances to access our services conveniently on route to and from their place of work.

We are committed to providing children with a high standard of planned, safe, creative and positive play opportunities, whilst at the same time offering them the opportunity to grow and develop and define their own time.

We have an excellent outdoor area complete with outdoor garden room used for all manner of activities. Our outdoor play area incorporates a number of physical challenges naturally sculptured into a large mature family garden which offers plenty of space for the children to be challenged and move about freely.

Outside games and play activities are positively encouraged, even in weather that may be considered inclement we endeavour to promote outdoor play as a learning experience. We provide children with outdoor waterproof suits; however, because our aim is to provide experiences led by the child we encourage parents to consider children are clothed accordingly for their time spent with us.

Our activity programme incorporates a balanced mix of social, physical, intellectual, creative and expressive play opportunities, which meet the needs of children of different ages and abilities. The children are regularly consulted about the activity programme and encouraged to be involved in planning all activities which include amongst others: Arts; Sculpture; Textiles; Drawing; Music; Reading; Dance; Drama; IT; Special Interests; Sports; Relaxing; Talking; Exploring the Environment; Celebrating Birthdays & Special Occasions; Spending time with their Friends.
